YORK, Pa. -- Convenience retailer Rutter's Farm Stores has promoted Robert Perkins to the position of vice president of marketing.

"With my new position, I will be focused on our day-to-day marketing initiatives and plans," Perkins told CSP Daily News. "I am responsible for all product selection, pricing and promotional activity [image-nocss] for all inside products excluding our foodservice."He added, "I will be working with Jeff Leedy and Jerry Weiner to drive our sales and margins. With the number of supplier relations we have, we will focus on new media [and] advertising opportunities that we have identified to drive more customers to our stores and provide them with a great shopping experience."Before joining Rutter's Farm Stores, Perkins was principal consultant with Lexington, Ky.-based Impact 21 Group LLC, where for six years he dealt with retailer and suppliers on category management and process controls. Prior to that, he was director of marketing at Irving Oil Corp., Portsmouth, N.H., for six years.
