Speedway Set to Hire 1,000 Managers in 2018

C-store chain will host open interviews to attract entry-level supervisors

ENON, Ohio -- Speedway LLC plans to add 1,000 new managers to its ranks in 2018. The Enon, Ohio-based retailer is recruiting entry-level supervisors, customer-service representatives and foodservice specialists for its more than 2,700 convenience stores.

The subsidiary of Marathon Petroleum Corp. (MPC) in Findlay, Ohio, will host open interviews across the 21 states in which the c-store chain operates. Applicants can attend the recruiting events on Jan. 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The new hires will be able to immediately take advantage of Speedway’s benefits, such as health, dental and vision coverage for full-time employees. Both full- and part-time team members also can participate in the company-funded retirement plan, in addition to 401(k) plans. On top of those perks, the retailer offers monthly bonuses and tuition reimbursement to help attract and retain workers, it said.

To present a knowledgeable workforce and improve guest satisfaction, Speedway staff also take “swagger classes.” Glenn Plumby, senior vice president operations, told CSP Daily News that having a confident presence from employee attitude to store selection helps customers know the chain is serious about convenience and value.

The chain ranked No. 3 on CSP’s 2017 Top 202 list of the largest c-store chains in the United States.
