Stewart’s Shops Steps Up Construction

Retailer building, rebuilding and remodeling in six counties

BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. -- Construction season is in full swing for Stewart’s Shops, which said it has 11 convenience stores under construction in six counties in New York.

Ten of those stores are raze-and-rebuilds, and one is a new location.

Stewart’s Shops Corp. is investing $50 million dollars in 2017, with new builds, remodels and other shop improvements, which the company said includes a wider variety of food and beverage options.

"We are continually reinvesting our shops to meet the evolving needs of our customers," company spokesperson Maria D'Amelia told CSP Daily News. "Much of this is fueled by growth in foodservice as people look for quick, quality food that fits into their busy lifestyles. The ease of the shopping experience is also a big part of it, as we improve the flow inside and outside the shop. We want to make our customers' lives easier."
