Eby-Brown's Bunce named AWMA chairman

FAIRFAX, Va. -- The American Wholesale Marketers Association (AWMA) recently announced that the 2007 AWMA Chairman is Jode Bunce, executive vice president of cigarettes for Eby-Brown Co., Naperville, Ill.

Jode Bunce brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position and will be a strong champion for all of our wholesale distributor members, said AWMA president and CEO Scott Ramminger. He knows this industry from the inside out and understands the crucial issues facing our members.

Bunce has more than 22 years of experience [image-nocss] in the distribution industry having joined Eby-Brown in 1984 in a sales training program and, in 1988, received the Salesperson of the Year Award. In 1989, he became vice president of sales for Ohio. By 1990, he became vice president of operations for the Ypsilanti Distribution Center in Michigan. He assumed his current position in 1992 as vice president of merchandising of cigarettes and, in 2005, was promoted to executive vice president of cigarettes.

Bunce will deliver the opening address at AWMA's Real Deal Expo, the association's annual convention, being held Feb. 21-23, 2007, at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel. It is a major show for warehouse-distributed snacks, candy, tobacco, grocery, foodservice, general merchandise, health and beauty care items, technology products and more.

The AWMA is an international trade organization working on behalf of convenience distributors in the United States.
