CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- Susser Holdings Corp. has announced the appointment of three new members to its leadership team: Gail Workman as senior vice president of sales and operations with Susser Petroleum Co., Susser's wholesale fuel subsidiary, based in Houston; Bob Swan as senior vice president of human resources, based in Corpus Christi, Texas; and Joe Albanese as vice president of facilities management, also based in Corpus Christi.

"We are delighted to welcome these three managers to our organization," said Sam L. Susser, president and chief executive officer. "To [image-nocss] our wholesale fuel business, Gail brings a wealth experience in sales and operations from her years on the retail side of the utility industry. As we work to accelerate the growth in our wholesale dealer network, she will play a key role in helping drive that growth."

He also said, "Bob's career with national retailer JCPenney will be increasingly important to the company as we expand our store count and geographic footprint both organically and through acquisitions and we strive to build, motivate, reward and retain the best team of employees in our industry."

Susser added, "As we continue to enlarge and enhance our stores and improve the customer experience inside and out, Joe's role will also be critical. The expertise and new ideas he brings from his work with major ... c-store chain 7-Eleven and from other major retailers will help us continue to improve the look and feel of our stores and drive sales and profitability per square foot."

Workman brings 22 years' experience in sales and operations in the utility industry, most recently as a regional vice president of sales with GDF Suez Energy Resources. Earlier, she worked for Reliant Energy Solutions, Con Edison Solutions and Pennsylvania Power & Light Co.

Swan brings 27 years of retailing experience and more than 20 years' experience in human resources to the company. He previously was vice president of human resources for the JCPenney Co. in Plano, Texas, where he was responsible for 1,100 stores and approximately 120,000 associates.
