Troyer Retiring From Clark Brands

Industry veteran winds down 45-year career

LISLE, Ill. -- Bill Troyer, accounts manager for special projects at Clark Brands, will retire from the company effective December 31.

Troyer, a 45-year veteran of the petroleum industry, has had 17 years with Clark Brands, where he started at Clark Refining & Marketing as an account manager. In 2003, he introduced and implemented the Clark Brands license program along with signing up the original 20 marketers and 300 dealers.

While with Clark, Troyer received the Illinois Petroleum Marketer Gas Pump for Meritorious Service to the Industry in 2006.

He worked with dealers, truckstop operators and marketers while he was with Pure Oil, Union Oil, Unocal and Uno-Ven from 1969 to 1997. His career began with Union Oil as a dealer representative in Newark, Ohio. He held numerous positions in various cities with the company including dealer trainer, merchandiser, equipment buyer, auto/truck stop sales manager and auto/truckstop area sales manager. His last assignment with the company was regional manager of the eastern division for Uno-Ven.

Lisle, Ill.-based Clark Brands owns the Clark family of brands. The company licenses the Clark gasoline brand and the Four Corners Coffee brand to independent petroleum marketers and retailers. Clark also processes payments transactions for Clark, Crown and independent fuel stations in 29 states and the District of Columbia.

Clark Crown Brands owns the Crown family of brands and licenses the Crown and Fast Fare convenience store brands to fuel and lube oil marketers. The Crown fuel brands are marketed mainly throughout the South and Mid-Atlantic, and the lube oil brands are marketed both domestically and internationally.

Crown Central LLC has been marketing under the Crown family of brands for more than 90 years. Crown has been based in Baltimore since the 1930s.
