LUBBOCK, Texas -- United Supermarkets LLC said that construction is now underway to expand the kiosk at its Levelland and Muleshoe, Texas, stores, which will provide walk-in convenience service at their United Express fuel stations.
Each project will expand the existing fuel station to approximately 370 square feet, with walk-in access on two sides. Customers will have the opportunity to purchase a wide variety of convenience items, including freshly brewed coffee, iced tea, breakfast burritos, milk, bottled water, canned and bottled soda, candy, gum and an assortment of other grab-and-go snacks.
The projects are scheduled for completion before Memorial Day, according to Tandy Arrant, convenience business manager for United Supermarkets.
"We believe our Levelland and Muleshoe guests will truly enjoy the added convenience that this project will bring to our fuel stores," Arrant said.
Hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily at both fuel stations.
The projects are part of a multi-year effort to expand the company's convenience offerings at existing fuel locations. The United Express brand also includes five freestanding, full-service convenience stores, with two other locations currently under construction in Borger and Dumas.
Locations are already planned in Amarillo and Hereford, Texas, the company said.
The company currently has 22 United Express fuel and convenience locations throughout Texas.
Now in its 97th year of operation, United Supermarkets is a family-owned grocery chain with stores in 30 markets across north and west Texas. A self-distributing company with its headquarters in Lubbock, Texas, and distribution centers in Lubbock and Roanoke, Texas, United Supermarkets currently operates 52 stores under four distinct formats: United Supermarkets, Market Street, Amigos and United Express.
