Certified Oil Rolls Out Loyalty Program to Ohio Drug Stores

And Irving Oil asks rewards members to exchange cards after Shaw's sale
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Certified Oil Co., a leading operator of gas stations and convenience stores in Ohio, has announced that its new Certified Savings Program, a three-level customer loyalty program, is being expanded to pharmacies and drug stores of all sizes. The program is being offered in and around Columbus, Ohio, and will expand to other geographic areas once launched.

Certified Savings is currently available at more than 25 of Certified's central Ohio gas station and convenience store locations, and the company is now extending this loyalty program to drug store owners [image-nocss] and their customers.

Through this new program, drug store partners will be able to reward customers with Certified Savings points that can be used to obtain fuel discounts of up to $1 per gallon at participating Certified Oil locations.

Columbus, Ohio-based Certified Oil operates or supplies more than 150 locations in Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky. Certified maintains its own proprietary Certified fuel brand and also distributes fuels for Sunoco, Marathon, Valero and Clark.

Separately, because of the recent announcement that SuperValu has sold or closed all of its 18 Connecticut Shaw's Supermarket locations, Irving Oil has responded with a program to continue savings for customers who participated in the Irving/Shaw's fuel discount program.

Throughout the month of March, consumers can turn in their Shaw's Rewards Cards at any participating Connecticut Irving location in exchange for Irving Fuel Rewards cards.

When consumers register their new cards online at www.override.com, they will automatically receive a discount of 10 cents off per gallon on up to 20 gallons per week at the Irving pump. The savings program will end June 30, 2010.

"We know how valuable this innovative fuel savings program has been to our customers," said Irving Oil Marketing general manager Harry Hadiaris. "We're very pleased to offer this solution to continue helping our customers save on gas."

The current program does not require any purchases to activate the savings; however, consumers must trade in a Shaw's Rewards Card during the month of March to receive the Irving fuel discount card.

Portsmouth, N.H.-based Irving Oil is a regional refining and marketing company serving customers in New England and eastern Canada with a range of finished energy products, including gasoline, diesel, home heating fuel, lubricants, jet fuel and complementary products and services.
