Spinx Phasing In fuelperks! at 13 Stations

Shell conversions provide customers with access to additional loyalty program

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Although it will not change the convenience store identity or in-store offer, The Spinx Co. will convert 13 of its gas stations to the Shell brand through a partnership it has announced with Shell Oil Co.

The conversions will include mostly upstate South Carolina locations that are now co-branded with another national fuel retailer such as BP, Exxon or Sunoco.

This partnership will allow these newly co-branded sites to be redemption locations for the BI-LO fuelperks! program.

As reported in a 21st Century Smoke/CSP Daily News Flash, this conversion is scheduled in phases, the first of which will be completed by the end of first-quarter 2015. Phase 1 will include three stores--in Anderson, Marietta and Lyman, S.C.

These sites will be fuelperks! redemption locations immediately upon completion of the rebrand.

Under the program, for every $50 a customer spends at a participating retailer, he or she will save five cents per gallon for up to 20 gallons of gasoline at participating gas stations.

In an effort to offer fuel discounts to all Spinx customers, the company rolled out its own loyalty and fuel rewards program in 2011, Spinx Xtras. The Spinx signature program offers gasoline discounts to customers for every $25 spent inside the store, for purchase of monthly Spinx Xtraspecials and for gasoline purchases when the card is used as a method of payment.

"Our customers are savvy; they take advantage of our Spinx Xtras rewards program as well as the BI-LO fuleperks! program. Our customers are price conscious and are looking to save money on gas every day. Through this partnership, we are able to offer more locations where customers can redeem their fuelperks! and save," said Stan Storti, president of The Spinx Co.

Based in Greenville, S.C., Spinx operates 78 convenience stores in South Carolina.
