ALTOONA, Pa. --Sheetz Inc. has rolled out a new loyalty program as an answer to customer requests for more customized rewards.
Loyalty members can now earn points for every transaction. As customers collect more points, they have the opportunity to earn rewards. As they earn points and collect rewards, they move up the rankings for even bigger rewards and offers.
Read on for three highlights from the convenience-store retailer's new loyalty program …
Customers who purchase a Sheetz reward card and register online for the new loyalty program automatically earn three cents off gas every day. This was a feature of the old loyalty program that Sheetz kept alive because of positive customer feedback.
Those already enrolled in the old loyalty program are automatically registered for the new program. Any “Rewardz” earned from the previous program are still available and any leftover credits from the previous program will be converted into “Pointz.”
Customers earn five points for every dollar spent in-store, although fuel, tobacco, lottery, milk, financial card and Sheetz gift-card purchases do not accrue points.
Customers earn rewards as they accrue points. For instance, once customers reach 250 points, they can redeem them for a fountain drink, self-serve Sheetz Bros. Coffeez, Shweetz doughnut or a regular cookie.
Rewards members can register online to select the rewards they want and receive exclusive offers. The Sheetz webpage outlining the loyalty program says it can send targeted offers based on what members like, but won’t share their information or fill their inbox with unwanted emails.
More points also mean higher rankings. The loyalty ranks are, from lowest to highest, Fan, Friend and Freak. Higher rankings mean bigger rewards and perks.
Registration comes with customized rewards, exclusive offers, birthday offers and events in which members can earn double points. Customers start earning surprise freebies once they reach Friend level at 1,000 points. Members who reach 2,500 are branded as Freaks, and receive more rewards and offers, in addition to invitations to special events, chances to try new freebies and the chance to earn Sheetz swag.
Levels are calculated based off of activity during the past 12 months, and members can track their progress for the coming year online or through the Sheetz mobile app.
Altoona, Pa.-based Sheetz operates more than 500 convenience stores throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Maryland and Virginia.
