Additech Appoints Schmitz as CEO

At-the-pump merchandising system company names president to board

HOUSTON -- Additech Inc., a leading outsourced operator of interactive merchandising systems at-the-pump additives has appointed its president, Paula Schmitz, to the board of directors to serve as chief executive officer.

Schmitz was appointed president last year after the company terminated its prior CEO. Paula has been working closely together with Ralph Koehrer, Additech's executive chairman, during the last nine months. Together they have put the business back onto a firm footing, they said, "using pragmatic, analytical management techniques and processes."

"We have implemented a number of strategies to enable us to place the business back into growth mode," said Koehrer. "Paula's business sense, company experience and no-nonsense approach have really helped us get the building blocks in place for long-term success."

Schmitz combines solid business understanding with extensive experience in technology-based companies.

"I am excited to be stepping into the position of CEO," said Schmitz, "I have confidence in the new leadership team at Additech and see my role as enabling them to do what they do best: getting the job done and delivering results."

Paula's background includes general counsel to a variety of technology companies in biotechnology, software, hardware, internet, medical device, wireless communications and healthcare. Prior to her career in law, she worked for major corporations primarily in the area of in corporate finance.

Houston-based Additech's patented systems, installed in more than 1,000 gas stations, enable fuel retailers to merchandise a variety of products and services to consumers right at the gasoline pump. The company's technology integrates with fuel dispensers and point-of-sale (POS) systems to offer retailers a complete merchandising solution. Additech offers its solutions to high-volume fuel retailers on a turnkey service basis. Retailers receive a share of Additech's revenues, without having to make a capital investment, while Additech is responsible for installing, operating and maintaining the systems. Major retailer relationships include HEB, Kroger and Murphy Oil USA.
