GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Gilbarco Inc. and Tronitec Inc. have announced the settlement of litigation that has been pending between them in U.S. District Court in Greensboro, N.C. The lawsuit, filed by Gilbarco on May 6, 2011, alleged that Tronitec had infringed Gilbarco's copyright in certain software programs used in fuel dispensers manufactured and sold by Gilbarco.
The lawsuit also alleged that Tronitec had violated the integrity of Gilbarco's "copyright management information," in violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
Tronitec denies Gilbarco's allegations of wrongdoing, and the parties have agreed to settle the litigation on mutually agreeable terms.
As a result of the settlement, the Court, with the consent of the parties, has entered a permanent injunction that prohibits future acts of specified copyright violations.
