PDI holds annual Idea Exchange

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- On May 14 and 15, more than 100 Professional Datasolutions Inc. (PDI) customers and guests attended PDI's annual Idea Exchange. Idea Exchange is one of two annual PDI conferences held to update customers on the company's software development plans and to gather feedback for use in future development efforts. It has been conducting Idea Exchange sessions since 1995.

James Maxey, senior manager of store systems development and maintenance for Valero Energy, said, "Valero has had the opportunity to contribute many ideas as to how PDI [image-nocss] can make their products work more effectively for our company. PDI's Idea Exchange not only allows us to have a positive forum for input, but gives us a chance to network with other companies using the same technology. We see our suggestions coming out in new releases, and this just encourages us to be even more proactive with PDI."

Greg Gilkerson, president of PDI, said, "We are gratified that our customers actively participate in our development process. Undoubtedly, much of our success comes from ideas we get from our customer community and forums like Idea Exchange."

During the two-day workshop, PDI presented product plans for present and future product development. It focused on the new PDI/Enterprise software, among other products. The PDI/Enterprise Financial Suite went into general release this past fall and more than 40 customers are now either converted or in the process of converting to the software, PDI said.

San Antonio-based Valero has approximately 4,700 retail sites branded as Valero, Diamond Shamrock, Ultramar, Beacon and Total.

Temple, Texas-based PDI delivers enterprisewide software, hardware and services that meet convenience store and wholesale petroleum marketers' specialized needs.
