Huck’s Integrates Acumera’s C-Store Connections Package

Martin & Bayley upgrades its chain’s network management, security services

CARMI, Ill. -- Martin & Bayley Inc. has selected Acumera to provide network management and security services for its Huck’s convenience-store chain.

Huck's C-Store

The growing retailer needed a more comprehensive solution to support Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance, improve network reliability and increase operational visibility, said Paul Black, vice president of IT at Huck’s.

“As a level-one retailer, we need a strong managed security solution that supports the PCI compliance process, but also provides up-to-the-minute visibility into our store operations,” Black said. “Acumera’s C-Store Connections package delivers both, which means we can be more proactive in serving our customers by identifying and fixing connectivity issues before they impact business.”

The C-Store Connections package includes the Merchant Gateway managed firewall, the AcuVigil dashboard for remote network monitoring and management and Apps for Your Network services, a secure and more cost-effective system for managing operations and data in the connected convenience store.

“Convenience-store IT leaders are under constant pressure to stay on top of the dynamic cybersecurity landscape, meet evolving industry standards and keep stores running around the clock, all while improving efficiency,” said Tom Yemington, Acumera’s vice president of sales and marketing. “Our solutions offer support, expertise, technology and control to help forward-thinking retailers like Huck’s manage today’s challenges and capitalize on opportunities in the future.

Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, the design, configuration and implementation of each Acumera customer network is customized based on the retailer’s specific operational requirements.

“Acumera has done an excellent job of making the rollout process of this transition very smooth and flexible for us,” Black said. “That flexibility allowed us to keep other projects moving forward while installations were completed at all of our locations. It’s clear that Acumera is committed to supporting our team and our operations.”

Austin, Texas-based Acumera is the leading provider of Trusted Connections Services for convenience stores, gas stations and petroleum wholesalers. Its innovative network management services, tools and applications give multi-site retailers unparalleled security, visibility and connectivity to support operations management and the bottom line. As a result, Acumera customers say they love their networks.

Huck’s Convenience Stores, owned by Martin & Bayley Inc., is a growing, employee-owned convenience store chain with more than 1,500 employees. Based in Carmi, Ill., Huck’s operates 115 stores in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.
