Jacksons Sees Acumera's Acumen

Selects managed network technologies to streamline, enhance store operations

MERIDIAN, Idaho -- Jacksons Food Stores Inc. has selected Acumera  to build, monitor and manage a secure network, interconnecting the convenience store chain's more than 200 retail locations with more than 1,900 store systems. Using the Acumera Merchant Gateway, AcuVigil Dashboard and Machine-to-Cloud Integration Engine, Jacksons will experience enhanced information security, connectivity and visibility across the company's enterprise.

Acumera offers consistent attention to connectivity, security and visibility of all aspects of retail technology, as well as strong carrier relationships.

"From visibility of individual devices and alerts on potential issues before they have an operational impact, to discreet network segmentation at the switch level and management of broadband carriers, Acumera is now our one source company for our network integration and management," said Patrick Abernathy, the company's director of information technology.

"Acumera provides sophisticated network services which enable us to provide better remote support for our stores and freeing up staff time to focus on other systems and projects. We believe that enlisting Acumera not only satisfies our functional requirements, but also enhances our ability to conduct better support for our locations," he added.

Central to many of the benefits that Acumera's system provides to Jacksons is the ability to centrally manage switch segmentation for all remote locations, maintain network segmentation policies that are created within the AcuVigil Dashboard and push to all remote switches managed within the enterprise.

"We're pleased to be supporting an industry leader like Jacksons. Acumera's Trusted Connection Services enable complete visibility into store systems for our customers, helping them better operate their business and deliver proactive remote support," said Dirk Heinen, chief executive officer of Austin, Texas-based Acumera. "Security and high availability, built around an exceptionally agile platform, is the new technology baseline for leaders in the convenience store industry."

Acumera provides "trusted connection services" to multi-site merchants, specializing in the reduction of problems caused by network management and security issues.

Jacksons was established in Idaho in 1975 as a single service station. Today, the Meridian, Idaho, company is a network of more than 600 company or contracted retail outlets in eight western states.
