KSS Fuels, PWM Launch PriceSync

Delivers fuels price integration from head office to price sign

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- KSS Fuels and PWM Electronic Price Signs have announced the general availability of PriceSync, an integration module that supports the automated delivery and verification of fuel price changes from the head office to the electronic price sign at a retail location. PriceSync will guarantee the accuracy of price displays, with immediate notification of any issues in the timing or update of price changes.

PriceSync integrates KSS Fuels' PriceNet software and PWM's price signs, creating a closed-loop system and confirming successful implementation of new fuel prices at the sign as well as taking care of the synchronization with point-of-sale systems and fuel dispensers.

PriceSync ensures that fuel retailers can respond quickly to market or competitor changes and enhance customer satisfaction by avoiding fuel price discrepancies between price sign, fuel island or store, the companies said.

"This latest advancement in fuel pricing capability will allow even greater control and visibility into every step of the pricing process, giving added confidence that price changes are fully implemented," said Mark Hawtin, senior vice president of KSS Fuels.

Erica Johnson, executive vice president of PWM Electronic Price Signs, added, "PWM and KSS Fuels offer fuel retailers a proven framework for sustainable performance improvement, based on the combined technology and services of the two leaders in their respective fields."

The key components of the system integrated by PriceSync are:

KSS Fuels' PriceNet, a comprehensive pricing solution that supports the key tasks and stakeholders involved in retail fuels pricing. High levels of automation and an "exception-based" approach ensure a rapid response to competitors and market conditions and allow pricing analysts to leverage the power of pricing analytics.

PWM's price signs, which confirm the price change provided by PriceNet through the patent pending Active Message Control System (AMCS, PWM Sync). This is accomplished through PWM Sync monitoring the communications between the control unit and price sign and reporting price sign changes when they occur.
