KSS Fuels launches new cloud-based retail fuels pricing solution

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- KSS Fuels has announced the availability of PriceNet Cloud, the latest addition to its suite of pricing-intelligence solutions, targeting retailers looking for an enterprise-scale fuels pricing solution without the associated capital investment and need for information technology (IT) maintenance.

Within the industry, the term "cloud" has begun to refer to technologies that use third-party hosted hardware, software and even database housing. PriceNet Cloud offers the capability of the on-premise PriceNet solution.

"With PriceNet Cloud we're addressing client demand for automated and intelligent fuels pricing solutions which can be quickly implemented, via a monthly subscription, that avoids upfront investment and internal IT resources and lowers the cost of ownership," said Bob Stein, president and CEO of KSS Fuels. "The new deployment model offers the same PriceNet promise of fast response to market conditions, better control over volumes and improved margins for an all-in monthly fee."

Using the latest cloud technology and designed with sufficient scale to support hundreds of users and thousands of sites, PriceNet Cloud is delivered with high levels of security, data protection and availability, meeting acknowledged global industry standards.

The solution is available through a monthly subscription model.

The development comes as a response to growing industry-wide adoption of software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings, driven by demand for rapidly implemented solutions with lower total cost of ownership. Gartner Inc., Stamford, Conn., an IT research and advisory company, forecasts SaaS revenues to grow by 18% to $14.5 billion in 2012. Forrester Research, Cambridge, Mass., a global research and advisory firm, predicts 2012 to be the year when SaaS business intelligence solutions, including predictive analytics, will be used by more than 25% of companies.

PriceNet Cloud's key functionalities include integration with point-of-sale (POS) and signage vendors, business discovery analytics, alerts and messaging functionality, pricing science, standard and customizable pricing rules, compliancy module and price optimization capability. The product also offers the ability for site operators to update competitive information locally.
