MacEwen Petroleum Streamlines Its Retail Software

ERP implementation extends to more than 130 c-store locations

MAXVILLE, Ontario -- MacEwen Petroleum Inc. has selected PDI as its enterprise resource planning (ERP) software provider.

MacEwen has licensed a number of products from PDI, including its retail and wholesale petroleum software suites, to help improve operational visibility and control.

“Over the years, our company has continued to evolve, and we needed a software partner that could streamline our operation, support the complexities of our diverse business portfolio and enable our growth trajectory,” said Mark Kinnin, vice president of retail convenience for MacEwen. “In addition to market-leading software that could automate our business processes and provide the insights we required, they came with extensive experience in the Canadian market, which was very reassuring.”

Maxville, Ontario-based MacEwen began as a residential and farm fuel operation in 1976, supplying rural residents in the area. Today the privately owned company owns or supplies more than 130 retail locations across Ontario and Quebec while continuing to serve the residential and commercial fuel market.

“MacEwen is a leader in their space, and we are so pleased to have the opportunity to work with them,” said Bo Harvey, senior vice president of North American operations for PDI. “I look forward to leveraging our deep industry knowledge and enterprise software to help them reduce costs, increase operational efficiency and deliver on the changing needs of their customers.”

MacEwen has already begun the software implementation process, and the project is scheduled for completion later this year.

Temple, Texas-based PDI provides enterprise software and solutions to convenience retailers and wholesale petroleum marketers. More than 500 companies worldwide use PDI’s software for retail automation, business intelligence, financial reporting, workforce management and end-to-end fuel supply-chain management, including logistics.
