McCombs Named VP of Merchandising Ops at 7-Eleven

Responsible for strategic pricing, cost management, space planning, logistics, intelligence
DALLAS -- Scott McCombs has been named vice president of merchandising operations for 7-Eleven Inc., according to a report by The Times Herald-Record. His responsibilities include strategic pricing, vendor cost-of-goods management, space planning and optimization, as well as operations, logistics and merchandise intelligence.

The appointment comes as the retailer is making internal changes and growing at a rapid pace with plans to add as many as 500 stores in 2011.

McCombs joined 7-Eleven in 1996, said the report. He has served as senior director of pricing, [image-nocss] merchandise and operations intelligence since January 2003.

Dallas-based 7-Eleven Inc. operates, franchises or licenses more than 8,300 7-Eleven stores in North America. Globally, it operates, franchises or licenses more than 39,000 stores in 16 countries. During 2009, 7-Eleven stores worldwide generated total sales of more than $58.9 billion. The company is franchising its U.S. stores and is expanding through organic growth, acquisitions and its Business Conversion Program.
