Oneida Nation Names Vice President for Technology

Murphy to oversee IT for tribe's casino, convenience store enterprises

ONEIDA, N.Y. -- Oneida Nation Enterprises has named Steve Murphy as vice president for technology, including Turning Stone Resort Casino and SavOn Convenience Stores.

Murphy is responsible for the development and performance of all of the Oneida Nation's information technology.

His experience includes positions as the chief information officer, vice president for information technology and similar positions at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, MGM Mirage and Hyatt Gaming, among others. Murphy most recently served as an executive strategy consultant for Microsoft Corp.

Oneida Nation Enterprises encompass Turning Stone Resort Casino, SavOn Convenience Stores, Four Directions Productions, Indian Country Today Media Network, car care, and marina operations.

The Oneida Indian Nation's 12 SavOn stores are located in Verona, Verona Beach, Sherrill, Oneida and Canastota, N.Y. The stores offer Daylight Donuts, Green Mountain Coffee, Abbott's frozen custard and Stone Hearth Bakery & Deli, among other products and services. The chain recently added drive-thrus to some locations.
