Pinnacle Integrates Palm POS With CFN Fleet Network

Enables more efficient acceptance of cards including Mannatec, Fuelman, Fleetwide

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Pinnacle Corp. has announced that its Palm POS register now supports a direct interface to the payment network for Commercial Fueling Network (CFN), a fleet management and fueling company.

Pinnacle Corp.

The new CFN Network Interface Module (NIM) enables the Palm point-of-sale register to more efficiently accept a variety of popular fleet cards for payment including Mannatec, Fuelman and Fleetwide cards, both in the store and outside at the pump, said Pinnacle.

Pinnacle developed the new interface based on CFN's latest 4.2 version host interface specification which uses standard ISO 8583 parameters commonly used in the payment industry. The new NIM supports typical fleet card prompting and eliminates the legacy counter hardware at the store.

"We continually seek out new and enhanced payment alternatives for our retailers," said Denise Lewis, Pinnacle POS product manager. "Working with CFN to support a direct interface for these fleet cards was a great opportunity to offer more payment options."

She said the company was especially pleased to introduce a software-based NIM solution rather than the legacy hardware-based interface commonly used for Mannatec cards. "Anytime we can integrate to the POS and remove hardware from the store, we feel like retailers will see immediate value," Lewis said.

The new CFN NIM has been certified and is now available from Pinnacle.

Seattle-based CFN was established in 1988 with the goal of creating a North American commercial cardlock network that offers integrated fueling card processing solutions to fleet managers and owners. Today, CFN is comprised of more than 350 independent petroleum marketers who are committed to provide the transportation industry with fueling products 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.

Pinnacle's Palm POS is a touch-screen device designed and developed specifically for the convenience and petroleum industry. Arlington, Texas-based Pinnacle provides automation technology and delivers products that automate the broad spectrum of convenience store operations and supply-chain management of fuel operations.
