SageNet to Unveil New Retail Solution

IT automation tool to be featured at upcoming NACS Show

TULSA, Okla. -- SageNet, a managed-services and cybersecurity solutions provider, will unveil a new retail solution to help convenience-stores consolidate and streamline in-store information technology (IT) at this year’s NACS Show, Oct. 17-20 in Chicago.

SageNet will highlight its partnership with Palo Alto, Calif.-based Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Zynstra to develop and support a c-store-focused solution based on HPE’s ProLiant Easy Connect in its NACS exhibit (booth 3257). Easy Connect is a hybrid server built for sophisticated retail IT environments with limited space and local support. Its automation capabilities centrally manage thousands of distributed sites and could enable c-stores to launch new store services faster.

According to SageNet CEO Daryl Woodard, the industry’s growth since 2015 has led to increased investment in convenience-retail outlets and a focus on improving the shopping experience.

“Convenience stores have evolved from ‘gas and snack’ stops to sophisticated retail outlets,” said Woodard. “To meet customers’ increasing expectations for data-intensive applications, c-stores need sophisticated, easy-to-use technology solutions. We’re excited to be collaborating with HPE and Zynstra to deliver a groundbreaking solution that gives c-store IT teams the flexibility to update all the different technology appliances in a c-store with a single server—one that is easy to install, saves space and reduces their IT costs.”

Zynstra’s virtualization and cloud-management software is packaged by HPE as a key part of its new ProLiant Easy Connect portfolio.

HPE ProLiant Easy Connect offerings include:

  • Enhanced PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry-Data Security Standard) compliance
  • Automated provisioning, patching and configuration of all c-store sites
  • Centralized control of the c-store estate from one single point
  • Prototype, test and launch of new apps and services

SageNet, which provides managed networks to many c-store chains, will provide installation and support. The SageNet exhibit at the NACS Show will also include its full offering of cybersecurity solutions, Wi-Fi solutions and unified communications.

NACS, the Association for Convenience and Fuel Retailing, represents the U.S. convenience-store industry, which has more than 150,000 stores across the country. Its annual meeting brings together nearly 25,000 members of the industry for four days of learning and networking.

SageNet manages communications at more than 160,000 locations. The company’s customer base represents many retail, healthcare, financial and energy companies, as well as public utilities, state lotteries and government agencies. With headquarters in Tulsa, Okla., SageNet also has regional offices in Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Chicago and Philadelphia.

Zynstra, located in Bath, United Kingdom, is a software company formed by experienced technology and business entrepreneurs. The company creates enterprise-grade software and delivers it into complex IT organizations.
