Shell Canada Completes Installation of Wayne Diesel Fuel Additive Kits at 60 Retail Sites

Integrated solution avoids cost of building underground storage tanks

CALGARY, Alberta -- Shell Canada Ltd. has completed the installation of premium diesel fuel additive options at 60 of its retail gas stations across Canada, announced Wayne, A GE Business and a global provider of fuel dispensers and forecourt technologies.

The additive storage tank is integrated into the Wayne Ovation fuel dispenser, serving as a cost-effective additive alternative for site owners and fleet operators by alleviating forecourt construction to install an underground storage tank, the company said.

Fuel additives can help enhance the quality and efficiency of the fuels used in motor vehicles. Key benefits include improved engine performance and preventing the buildup of engine deposits, according to the company.

"By introducing a premium diesel product, we are offering our customers more choices. We selected the Wayne solution because it enables us to add this new fuel offering directly at the dispenser without adding new infrastructure," said Mike Papulkas, relationship manager for Shell Canada.

"We have been working with Shell Canada for just under two years to complete this nationwide initiative," said Peter Parmentier, Wayne vice president of sales and service for Canada. "By integrating the additive solution into the dispenser, we help site owners update their forecourt while reducing site downtime and customer inconvenience."

In addition, 26 Shell-branded sites through wholesale distributor Sobey's is implementing the technology, for a total of 86 installations that have been completed or are in the process of being completed.
