SMS Announces Partnerships

Forges deals with Cyberscience, Intellifuel, Verifone

RICHMOND, Va. -- Structured Management Systems (SMS) said that it has signed strategic partnership agreements with several industry vendors that will compliment and enhance its software sold to the petroleum distribution and convenience store industries.

The first partnership agreement is between SMS and Cyberscience Corp., Denver. Cyberscience's core product, Cyberquery, is an ad-hoc query and reporting system that delivers business intelligence. A feature of Cyberquery is that it will pull data from disparate systems such as sales from a Microsoft [image-nocss] SQL Server, product data from Oracle or Progress and personnel data from C-ISAM all in the same report.

The other partnership agreement is between SMS and Intellifuel Systems Inc., Titusville, Fla. Intellifuel has developed a data capturing and tank monitoring system that does not require a site resident PC, software and ISP or dedicated phone line. The system is designed to eliminate the paperwork previously associated with fuel and oil distribution.

The third partnership is a licensing agreement between SMS and VeriFone Inc., Clearwater, Fla. SMS has become a backoffice partner with VeriFone. VeriFone, through its Ruby petroleum/c-store point-of-sale (POS) systems, has approximately 40% of the integrated POS systems within the petroleum distribution industry, according to SMS. Richmond, Va.-based SMS is in the process of integrating its backoffice c-store module with the Ruby POS system.
