Software Empowers RaceTrac to Reach Workforce Milestone

Convenience store retailer completes rollout of employee management tool

ATLANTA --RaceTrac and Empower Software Solutions have announced that they have reached a milestone in the rollout of Empower's workforce management solution, EmpowerWFM, within the RaceTrac convenience store network. All 365 RaceTrac locations are now using EmpowerTime, the time and attendance product from the EmpowerWFM solution suite.

This marks the successful first phase in a system-wide rollout of EmpowerWFM, which includes labor forecasting and automated scheduling of store associates.

"The implementation of EmpowerWFM is key to achieving our goal of coordinating staffing to peak traffic levels in our locations which will result in increased service to our customers," said Jaime Benton, director of human resources for RaceTrac.

EmpowerTime, when integrated with the rest of EmpowerWFM, will give RaceTrac managers a more robust tool for managing their workforce, allowing them to focus on customer satisfaction, c-store operations and the development of store associates. The integrated labor forecasting and automated scheduling solutions are now being phased into the RaceTrac convenience store network, with anticipated completion by mid-2014.

"RaceTrac is a true innovator in the c-store industry, with a particular focus on creating satisfied customers and a great work environment for their associates," said Joe Olson, executive vice president and general manager for Workforce Management at Empower Software. "EmpowerWFM is a natural fit for an organization like RaceTrac, as it enables store management and associates to concentrate more on serving customers and less on creating schedules, or tracking time and attendance."

Orlando, Fla.-based Empower provides human resources and workforce solutions for thousands of organizations, including retailers, manufacturers and financial services companies. Its integrated solution suites feature payroll and HR management, tax software and outsourcing, workforce management and talent management.

Based in Atlanta, RaceTrac has been serving customers since 1934 and now operates more than 360 convenience stores in Georgia, Florida, Louisiana and Texas.
