Corner Market

A second-generation, family-operated business, Piedmont Petroleum Corp. operates Corner Market stores throughout upper South Carolina. Stores are open late for customer convenience, with several open 24 hours a day.

The chain provides self-service foodservice options. It also carries beer and wine—mostly national beer brands occupy the floor and cooler spaces, with coolers averaging five doors per store for beer stock. The cold vault also stocks eggs, cheese and milk in various sizes. The stores also receive weekly deliveries of fresh bananas, apples and oranges.

Piedmont is deeply entrenched in the local community, demonstrated by its sponsorship of charity events that support causes such as Mountain GOAT (Great Outdoor Adventure Trips for Kids), Muscular Dystrophy Association, Harvest Hope Food Bank and Safe Harbor, a domestic violence prevention group.
