Sunoco is one of the largest transportation-fuel providers with operations located primarily in the East Coast and Midwest regions of the United States. The company sells transportation fuels through nearly 5,000 branded retail locations in 24 states and the District of Columbia.

Sunoco is part of Energy Transfer Partners, a publicly traded partnership with a diversified portfolio of energy assets. Sunoco's APlus convenience stores, which sell about $700 million of merchandise annually, are known as the "Official Pit Stop of NASCAR." These sites are located along the East Coast from Massachusetts to Florida and west into upstate New York and Ohio. Most of the APlus stores are open 24/7, 365 days of the year.

APlus promotions are centered around its APlus Rewards program, which allows customers to earn fuel rewards by buying specially marked food, snack and beverage items inside the store. Today, about half of APlus locations are company-owned, and the remaining stores are franchised. While originally a Northeastern U.S. brand, Sunoco has rapidly expanded APlus' reach into the Southeastern United States.
