Wawa Inc. is one of the nation’s leading c-stores chains, particularly when it comes to foodservice. In addition to a slew of fresh foods and beverages, Wawa also sells a wide selection of private-label products such as bagged Wawa coffees, Wawa dairy products and Wawa teas.

Wawa stores generally range from about 3,500 to 4,500 square feet, but newer units can be as large as 7,600 square feet. Interiors are bright and warm, complementing the chain’s abundant fresh-food offering, while an open floor plan allows customers easy access to the store’s many branded food and beverage stations. Central to the interior is the chain’s signature built-to-order hoagie counter with touchscreen ordering terminals.

Wawa employs 22,000 associates at its stores in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Florida.

A major Wawa milestone in the past decade has been its move into Florida, which began in 2012. It most recently expanded into southeastern Florida, with the first wave of new convenience stores opening in Palm Beach and Broward counties.
