Love’s Adds President to Leadership Team

‘Proactive step to support the company's continued growth in scope and size,’ founder says

OKLAHOMA CITYLove’s Travel Stops & Country Stores has named Shane Wharton to the newly created position of president.

In this role, Wharton will work closely with the Love family and oversee Love's operations and fleet sales, as well as the company's human resources, information technology and legal departments. He will report directly to Love's co-CEOs, Greg and Frank Love.

Previously, Wharton was Love's executive vice president and CFO.

“Appointing Shane as president is a proactive step to support the company's continued growth in scope and size,” said Tom Love, founder and executive chairman of Love's. “Shane has a long history with Love's and a deep understanding of our businesses, culture and people. He is a strong leader with a multitude of strengths and capabilities, and I feel confident he is the right person to help carry out our vision as we continue to grow.”

Wharton was born in Watonga, Okla., home to Love's first location. His career with Love's began 22 years ago. His “strong financial acumen and extensive industry knowledge will add an increased focus on expanding the company's products and services for customers,” said the company.

The company will conduct a nationwide search to fill the CFO role.

Oklahoma City-based Love’s has more than 480 locations in 41 states. It has more than 350 truck service centers, which include Speedco and on-site Love's Truck Tire Care locations.
