Cumberland Farms Grows Sunshine State Brand Presence

Convenience retailer opens four new concept stores in central Florida

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. --Cumberland Farms has opened four new concept convenience stores in central Florida. The chain owns and operates nearly 50 stores throughout Florida, and the four new stores in Brevard County mark the first in the central region of the state.

Cumberland Farms is continuing to transform its c-stores by bringing a new look and feel to its retail locations.

The multiyear remodeling initiative, which began in 2009, includes a major overhaul of all of the brand's stores by incorporating a modernized architecture and design, new food items like pizza, fried favorites and hot sandwiches, as well as upgrades like additional square footage, high-top bar counters, outdoor patio seating and an increased number of parking spaces and gas pumps.

"Cumberland Farms has served communities in Florida since the 1970s, and our customer loyalty and demand for the brand has continued to grow," said Ari Haseotes, CEO of Cumberland Farms. "We are excited to have expanded the brand's presence to a new region in Florida with our new concept stores, in addition to giving back to community organizations in the process."

To celebrate the brand's expansion to central Florida, Cumberland Farms will host a ribbon-cutting event at each new store location throughout the week of October 26 that will kick off a four-week fundraiser for a community organization. During the four weeks after each event, the company will give 10 cents from every dispensed beverage customers purchase at the new c-stores directly to the store's partnered community organization.

The opening event locations, dates and fundraising partners are:

  • West Melbourne, Fla., October 26, Greater West Melbourne Little League.
  • West Melbourne, Fla., October 27, Palm Bay Magnet High School.
  • West Melbourne, Fla., October 28, Roy Allen Elementary School.
  • Malabar, Fla., October 29, Bayside High School Boys' Basketball and Girl's Tennis.

The store opening events are open to the public, and a number of community members will also participate in the celebrations. Cumberland Farms will offer attendees complimentary food from its new menu including pizza, mac and cheese bites and chicken tenders, and beverages such as Farmhouse Blend or Bold coffee and fountain and frozen flavors from the Chill Zone. It will also be handing out free swag such as Chill Zone T-shirts, frisbees and sunglasses.

Framingham, Mass.-based Cumberland Farms operates nearly 600 convenience stores across eight states in the Northeast and Florida.
