“Don brings a strong focus on valued-added acquisitions to MFA Oil operations,” said Jon Ihler, vice president of sales, marketing and quality control. “His extensive experience and leadership in mergers and acquisitions will help streamline the process and allow us to move more quickly on opportunities.”

Smith brings more than 25 years of mergers and acquisitions experience to MFA Oil. Most recently, he served as CEO of Midwest M&A Advisors, a St. Louis-based mergers and acquisitions consulting firm he founded in 2012.

His experience also includes more than 15 years representing Colorado-based businesses, much of it as owner and president of Andor Inc., Colorado Springs, Colo.

MFA Oil Co. is a farmer-owned cooperative with more than 40,000 members. It was organized in 1929 by Missouri farmers who were seeking assurance of a reliable and quality supply of fairly priced petroleum products. The company has been serving local consumers' needs since that time, becoming the largest supplier of propane in Missouri and creating the Break Time convenience stores in 1985 through its subsidiary, MFA Petroleum, which also operates the Big O Tire and Jiffy Lube franchises in mid-Missouri. In addition to propane, MFA Oil also sells fuels and lubricants to customers in Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Iowa, many through unmanned fuel lots throughout the region. There are 78 Break Time c-stores in Missouri and Arkansas.
