QuickChek Opening Three New Convenience Stores

WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. --QuickChek Corp. is opening three new convenience stores and creating 85 new jobs across the state of New Jersey.

“We strive to be the neighborhood shopping destination close to where our customers live and work,” said QuickChek CEO Dean Durling, whose brand was chosen by consumers as the best coffee in America in a 2014 national survey. “These new stores allow us to better serve these markets and provide our customers with more food and fueling options. We’re proud to continue to move ahead, opening new locations and creating new local jobs to serve our local communities.”

QuickChek recently opened a new convenience store in Fairfield on October 13. New stores are scheduled to open in the Morganville section of Marlboro Township on October 27 and in Lakewood on November 16.

Also, the chain’s first store on Long Island, in the village of Lake Grove, N.Y., marks its one-year anniversary, on October 27.

In addition to creating new jobs with most of its new team members living locally in those respective communities, each new store generates approximately $1 million in tax revenue, adding to the positive economic impact in those areas.

With these new stores, QuickChek will have opened 32 new retail locations and hired an additional 1,200 people in the past eight years.

“Our plan has been to maintain good, steady growth over time,” said Durling. “Being privately held allows us to succeed at our pace.”

The opening of the new Fairfield store brings the company’s total to 141 fresh convenience markets serving New Jersey, New York’s Hudson Valley and Long Island, including 11 pharmacy stores and 50 locations with fuel.

The company, which employs more than 3,500 people, enjoys the distinction of being named one of the Best Places to Work in both New Jersey and New York State.

The new convenience stores will be open 24 hours a day and feature the company’s fresh food and beverage program in which consumers use touch-screen technology to create custom-made oven-toasted subs, sandwiches, wraps and salads. In-store Q Cafés offer nearly 40 varieties of handcrafted hot and iced cold coffees, iced caramel macchiato, fresh-brewed cappuccinos, lattes and espressos, blended-to-order real fruit smoothies and frozen treats. No-fee ATMs provide additional added value to consumers with fueling stations offering fuel at value prices.

QuickChek was voted as having the “Best Overall Beverage Quality” (coffee) and the “Best Food Quality” in America in a 2014 Technomic survey.
