Balkar Management Group has acquired 13 gas stations and one bulk fuel terminal from Consumers Oil Corp.

The Trenton, New Jersey-based fuel marketer and convenience-store operator now has a total of 40 gas stations—about half of which include a convenience store, and a few of which include car washes, Balkar Management Group President and CEO Jassi Balkar told CSP

The acquired gas stations from Consumers Oil, also based in Trenton, are all located in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, while the fuel terminal was located on Duck Island, along the Delaware River, Balkar said. The deal closed May 23.

“These assets are particularly attractive because they provide a rare opportunity to expand our footprint within the service area by adding key sites,” Balkar said. “Additionally, they position us to become terminal operators—an exciting step forward for our strategic growth.”

Balkar Management is a Sunoco and unbranded Liberty fuel distributor. Most of its stores are unbranded, except for one that’s branded Vulcan (pictured above). Its c-stores are about 2,200 square feet, on average.

Balkar said they may add some more c-stores to the gas station sites it acquired from Consumers Oil.
