Houston-based Brake Time Corner Market (BTCM) has acquired FastLane's 14 convenience stores across East Texas, the company told CSP Daily News Friday.

The acquisition includes 12 Shell-branded fuel stations and a fuel distribution network, significantly strengthening BTCM’s footprint and capabilities across both retail and wholesale fuel operations, the company said. The stores are in Lumberton, Beaumont, Nederland, Winnie, Vidor and Port Arthur, Texas.

FastLane opened its first convenience store in 1983, according to its website. The company has built a strong reputation for operational excellence and customer loyalty, BTCM said. BTCM said it will build on that legacy while introducing a fresh, elevated vision centered around high-quality, craveable food offerings and a best-in-class store experience.

Nearly 200 FastLane employees will join the BTCM team as part of the transition.

“This is a transformational moment for BTCM,” BTCM CEO Usman Bashir said. “We’re not just growing our footprint—we’re building a leading food-forward convenience platform. FastLane has built an incredible foundation over the past 30 years, and we’re excited to elevate these locations with a stronger focus on fresh food, innovation and an outstanding customer experience.”

BTCM plans to fully remodel the 14 locations in phases and rebrand them as BrakeTime stores with expanded foodservice capabilities.

“Foodservice is no longer an add-on—it is a core pillar of our strategy and a defining part of how we serve our customers moving forward,” said Rene Dacosta, BTCM’s vice president of food, beverage and QSR.

The acquisition brings BTCM’s store count to more than 300 stores, Dacosta told CSP.  Brake Time Corner Market previously went by BreakTime Corner Market.
