TEMPLE, Texas — CEFCO Convenience Stores has acquired a c-store in Marlin, Texas, from Young’s Market. As the year winds to a close, the deal is CEFCO’s first acquisition of 2020.

It is CEFCO’s second store in Marlin, Texas. It has four fuel pumps and two truck diesel lanes.

The initial rebranding will take place Dec. 29, but further rebranding will follow in the coming weeks, the company said.

“We are excited to open our second store in Marlin—especially because it will be located at such a convenient highway intersection [Highway 6 and Highway 7],” said Dana Crick, regional vice president of operations for CEFCO. “We look forward to completing the rebranding in the coming weeks and continuing to serve and partner with the community that has supported our growth since we opened our first store in Marlin.”

In other company news, in early December, CEFCO held a grand opening of its newest store in Mount Enterprise, Texas, the chain’s second ground-up build in 2020.

The five-acre site features eight multi-pump dispensers, which include ethanol-free fuel and five truck diesel lanes as well as 32 truck parking spaces. The 7,689-square-foot store features Fresh Yo self-service frozen yogurt and a CEFCO Kitchen. Open 24 hours a day, it also has a lounge and a shower. The site also has a dog park.

“We are excited to bring our new large store format to Mount Enterprise, and we are happy to offer our new CEFCO Kitchen food items to the local customers as well as the many traveling families and truckers that frequent this area,” said Crick. “We look forward to serving and partnering with the local community that has been supportive of our growth.”

In early November, CEFCO held the grand re-opening of a store in Paris, Texas, its second rebuild in 2020.

The 3.5-acre site features eight multi-pump dispensers, which include ethanol-free fuel and four truck diesel lanes. The 6,037-square-foot store features Hunt Brothers Pizza, Fresh Yo self-service frozen yogurt and a CEFCO Kitchen.

This is CEFCO’s fourth location in Paris. A fifth new location is planned for early 2021.

“We are excited to re-open this larger store that will better serve our loyal customers. We welcome these customers, as well as our many new customers, to come try out CEFCO Kitchen’s food offerings, which include lots of new made-to-order items,” Crick said.

Temple, Texas-based CEFCO, a unit of parent company Fikes Wholesale Inc., operates more than 200 locations in six states.
