
Cumberland Farms has completed its acquisition of Coen Markets. The deal includes 54 convenience stores, three new-to-industry locations and 20 dealer sites, the company said on Monday.
The acquired stores are in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia, and will expand Cumberland Farms’ U.S. footprint across the Pittsburgh region.
The deal was first announced in March. That initial news release also signaled the company’s rebrand from EG Group to Cumberland Farms.

Canonsburg, Pennsylvania-based Coen Markets has built a well-regarded retail offering, anchored by its fresh foodservice program, which includes its signature chicken, Roll Zone pepperoni rolls and handmade pizza, Cumberland Farms said. It also has a Club Coen loyalty program. Those capabilities will now sit within Cumberland Farms’ broader U.S. portfolio, the company said.

In its first-quarter earnings report, Cumberland Farms reported that its U.S. organic growth program continued to gain traction across rebranding and site refreshes, foodservice expansion, loyalty and digital engagement and opportunistic acquisition.
Westborough, Massachusetts-based Cumberland Farms operates 1,464 sites in the United States, including 1,401 company-operated locations, 1,400 proprietary fuel sites and 216 food outlets. Its brands also include Fastrac, Kwik Shop, Quik Stop, Sprint, Tom Thumb and Turkey Hill.
