Gill Energy Acquires Rudy & Sons

Picks up four c-stores, several car washes, fuel-supply distributorship

MATAWAN, N.J. -- Gill Energy has acquired Rudy & Sons Inc., which owns and operates four convenience stores with gas, a free-standing car wash and other associated tunnel and self-service car-wash businesses in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton and Whitehall, Pa.

The deal also includes Rudy's Gulf fuel-supply distributorship, which supplies the company-owned gas stations, as well as four independent gas stations in the area.

Allentown-based Rudy & Sons has been in business for more than 40 years in the Lehigh Valley.

NRC Realty & Capital Advisors LLC, Chicago, handled the sale. It provides real estate and financial advisory services and specializes in the sale of convenience stores nationwide.

Gill Energy was established in 1990 in Perth Amboy, N.J., and is a family-owned and -operated fuel and convenience-store chain. The company, now based in Matawan, N.J., directly operates or supplies more than 100 branded and unbranded locations throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and has been a Mobil-branded franchisee since 1991. It is also a BP, Sunoco and 76 jobber.
