WORCESTER, Mass. — Family-owned convenience-store retailer Nouria Energy, has acquired Mulligan’s, a “one-stop shop” c-store in Manchester, Maine, that the company said is known locally for its hometown appeal and menu offerings.

In addition to all-day breakfast, sandwiches, pizza and lobster rolls, Mulligan’s offers daily and seasonal specials as part of a made-to-order menu, which is also available for call-ahead ordering. The site is also a State of Maine Agency Liquor Store selling beer, wine and spirits, a store stocked with commuter and neighbors’ needs, and a Mobil-branded gas station.

“We are excited to welcome the Mulligan’s team,” said Tony El-Nemr, founder and CEO of Nouria Energy, Worcester, Mass. “This store has done a great job with not only becoming a best-loved breakfast and lunch stop, but also caring about their guest and team members, which is why they will fit in so perfectly with the Nouria family. We have officially opened our doors and look forward to welcoming the community.”

“I would like to thank the town and the surrounding community for its support throughout the years.” Said Gary Violette, former owner of Mulligan’s. “I would also like to thank all the Mulligans team members for their hard work and dedication to our store and our customers.”

With the completion of this acquisition, Nouria is setting its sights on more acquisition opportunities and new sites for continued expansion, the company said.

  • Nouria Energy is No. 50 on CSP’s 2021 Top 202 ranking of U.S. c-store chains by number of company-owned retail outlets.

El-Nemr founded Nouria Energy in 1989. The company owns 170 convenience store locations, of which 150 are company operated, 56 Golden Nozzle car washes, two lube centers, Whately Diner and a wholesale business.
