EDDYVILLE, Iowa — Elliott Oil Co. has debuted a new travel plaza in Eddyville, Iowa. The 7,000-square-foot store, which was built in 160 days, opened for businesses on Oct. 1.
A family-owned company that began in 1961 in Ottumwa, Iowa, Elliott Oil operates 16 BP convenience stores located in southeast Iowa and northern Missouri. Elliott Oil is also a petroleum supplier and distributor in 5 states: Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Kansas.
In 1991, the company established and has since operated Elliott Transport Inc., a fuel transportation business, delivering petroleum products to retail, commercial and industrial customers. In 2008, the company diversified and established Elliott Bulk Services LLC, a tankwagon and lubricant distribution business hauling fuel and supplying local Iowa farmers and commercial customers with their fuel and lubricant needs.

The new Eddyville location offers BP-branded fuel, including unleaded regular and premium gasoline and alternative fuels including E15 and E85. The site features eight gas lanes.
It also features five diesel lanes with diesel fuel and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). The site has truck parking available.
For foodservice, the store offers Godfather’s Pizza, Chester’s Chicken and a full kitchen with a made-to-go fresh food menu.
The store features the bean-to-cup Better Perk Coffee program and other brewed coffee options, as well as cappuccino.
It also features a fountain with more than 20 heads, and more beverage options including f’real shakes and smoothies.
The Eddyville Travel Plaza indoor seating, as well as a patio with covered outdoor seating.
The Eddyville Travel Plaza also offers free WiFi, and it has bathrooms with hands-free fixtures.

Tim Nydle, who has been with Elliott Oil for 32 years, is the manager of the new store.
