
Petroleum Marketing Group (PMG) has acquired Blythewood Oil Co.’s nine convenience stores.
Fort Myers Beach, Florida-based American Business Brokers and Advisors, which provided merger and acquisition advisory services to Blythewood Oil, announced the sale on Dec. 30.
Blythewood Oil’s stores are located between Charlotte, North Carolina, and Columbia, South Carolina. The c-stores are branded Sharpe Shoppe. The company also has affiliations with Exxon/Mobil and bp, American Business Brokers and Advisors said.
Blythewood Oil is a second-generation family company founded in 1976 by Larry Sharpe Sr. The Blythewood, South Carolina-based company also has a wholesale fuel sales and transportation business. While the Sharpe family is exiting the c-store business, they remain in the transportation and dealer business, American Business Brokers and Advisors said.
Founded in 2001, Falls Church, Virginia-based PMG is now one of the largest fuel distributors in the eastern United States. It has a network of more than 1,200 sites with locations from Maine to Florida.
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
