TA Acquires 19 GasMart USA Sites

TravelCenters of America now operates 79 convenience stores

WESTLAKE, Ohio --TravelCenters of America LLC, operator of the TA and Petro Stopping Centers travel center and the Minit Mart convenience store brands, has acquired 19 gas station c-stores in Missouri and Kansas for $27 million.

The company has acquired these locations from GasMart USA, Overland Park, Kansas, TravelCenters of America spokesperson Tom Liutkus told CSP Daily News. Sixteen of the locations are in Missouri, and three are in Kansas.

Including these 19 locations, TravelCenters of America now operates 79 standalone gas station convenience stores in Kentucky and Tennesse, along with its 254 travel centers in 43 states and all 10 Canada provinces.

TravelCenters said it expects that the convenience stores at these locations, which average approximately 3,900 square feet in size, will be rebranded as Minit Mart, and that it may add quick-service restaurants (QSRs) at some of these locations to complement existing QSR operations.

GasMart USA also operates gas stations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska and Wisconsin.
