WESTLAKE, Ohio --TravelCenters of America LLC, operator of the TA and Petro Stopping Centers travel centers and the Minit Mart convenience stores, announced that it has acquired a total of 26 gasoline/convenience stores, 18 in Minnesota and six in Kentucky, in three unrelated transactions.
The company did not disclose the identities of the sellers, but as reported in a 21st Century Smoke/CSP Daily News Flash, the deal includes the Little Store locations in Minnesota that TravelCenters of America acquired from Cloquet, Minn.-based Best Oil this week.
Some of the 26 sites currently offer branded quick-service restaurant (QSR) operations such as Subway, White Castle and Arby's.
TravelCenters expects to add a QSR or deli to most of the stores that currently do not include them.
The company has arranged gasoline branding for seven of the 26 stores as Marathon (five stores), BP (one store) and Exxon (one store). TravelCenters said it plans to rebrand the convenience stores at 26 of these locations and the remaining 19 gasoline operations as Minit Mart.
