Wawa’s not only a chain of convenience stores based in Pennsylvania; to many, its brand identity has achieved near-cult status, what with the admiration poured on the store and its private-label items, among other things. Petro-Canada decided a few years ago that its store image just wasn’t impressive enough, so it hired a design firm and dreamed up the stunning concept called Neighbours. And Scott Zaremba decided it was time to reduce, recycle, renew and reuse, so he created the Green Energy Gateway and is now using his brand to educate others on the concept of earth-friendly design. Read on to find out more about these retailers and their bold moves.
