5-Hour Energy Launches MLB Campaign

Unveils co-branded flavor, chance to attend All-Star Game

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- For a second consecutive year, Living Essentials LLC has launched an Extra Strength 5-hour Energy shot through its partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB).

This year’s sugar-free, 4-calorie shot comes in a Cherry flavor, following 2017’s Apple Pie flavor. The energy booster will be advertised throughout this year’s MLB All-Star Week in Washington, D.C., specifically during MLB All-Star FanFest and other All-Star Week events.

Also like last year, 5-hour Energy will launch a commercial featuring World Series Champion, American League MVP and Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve. The commercial will air on TV and online around opening day and will run throughout the baseball season.

And by submitting the receipt of any 5-hour Energy purchase via mail, consumers can enter for a chance to win a trip for two to this year’s Home Run Derby and MLB All-Star Game. Fans may submit up to 50 receipts for the sweepstakes, which began March 1 and will run through June 11.

“We’re excited to expand the program in this second year with a sweepstakes to attend these truly special MLB events,” said Melissa Skabich, communications director for Living Essentials. “Overall, we are putting a significant amount of resources behind this sponsorship to ensure its success, and we are looking forward to another great year of working with MLB.”

Farmington Hills, Mich.-based Living Essentials distributes energy drinks, protein shakes and vitamin products in the United States and Canada. Its staple, 5-hour Energy, contains a blend of B vitamins and amino acids, zero sugar, 4 calories and caffeine comparable to the amount in a cup of coffee.
