Understanding consumer desires is a moving target, and packaged snack makers are tasked with reading the tea leaves. When Totowa, New Jersey-based Cibo Vita Inc. launched its new artisanal roasted nuts—a lineup that’s been a year in the making with extensive consumer research on taste, texture, flavor and quality—one goal was understanding what Gen Z and millennial consumers were mostly seeking.
“Gen Z and millennials are leading the intense, bold, indulgent flavor trend, willing to explore uncommon combinations,” said Emre Imamoglu, CEO of Cibo Vita. “We’re reimagining our staple products to create blends with a twist. Cibo Vita’s artisanal roasted nuts innovation incorporates real spices in unexpected fusions. The premium package design features a zipper lock closure and contains 4 ounces of product. Kosher-certified, the initial four flavor combinations in the roasted nut line include Nature’s Garden Nashville-Hot BBQ Almonds, Nature’s Garden Baja Taco Cashews, Nature’s Garden Ghost Pepper Ranch Almonds and Nature’s Garden Spicy Dill Cashews.
One Brand’s new line of protein bars, One Coffee Shop, provides a boost of energy without the crash. One Coffee Shop bars are packed with 65 milligrams of caffeine, 20 grams of protein, and a single gram of sugar in each flavor: Vanilla Latte and Caramel Macchiato. The combination of caffeine, protein and sugar have the same amount of caffeine as a serving of espresso.
“This new line is made with our energy-seeking coffee lovers top of mind,” said Eric Clawson, general manager at One Brands. “Our creative team took the two most popular coffee flavors, vanilla and caramel, to produce brand-new coffee masterpieces.”
Aloha’s organic plant-based protein bars are made with sunflower butter, organic dried raspberries and creamy white chocolate, 14 grams of brown rice and pumpkin seed plant-based protein. Aloha bars are free of gluten, dairy, soy, stevia and sugar alcohol sweeteners.
Beam, which stands for Be Amazing, offers premium supplements of whey protein, vegan protein, pre workout, collagen and super greens packed with 26 fruits and vegetables to support immune system health. It increases energy, provides antioxidants and reinforces digestive systems.
Yasso, the maker of frozen snacks made with creamy frozen Greek yogurt, rolled out a redesign of its Poppables product—now with smaller pieces for a more snackable experience. Refreshed Yasso Poppables are available for an SRP of $6.49 per bag.
