Acosta Acquires Premier

Combined agencies to offer more confection penetration

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. -- Acosta Sales & Marketing Co. has signed a letter of intent to acquire Premier, a confection sales and marketing agency located in Longwood, Fla. The transaction is expected to close by November 1.

By joining forces with Premier, Acosta will strengthen its offering to confection manufacturers. Combining Premier with Acosta's existing convenience store team in Florida and the strength of its grocery team, confection manufacturers will get more coverage.

Premier's brand portfolio and relationships with key [image-nocss] confection manufacturers such as Charms, Concord, Ferrara Pan, Jelly Belly, Just Born, R.M. Palmer and Tootsie Roll, are important in enhancing Acosta's overall confection business, said Acosta president of strategic channels Jamie Gronowski.

Premier's owner, Chuck Brown, will stay with the company as director of sales for confection and will be responsible for the sales and management of Acosta's confection clients in the Florida market. Joining the Acosta team presents tremendous opportunities for our client base, he said.

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Acosta is a full-service North American sales and marketing agency providing outsourced sales, merchandising, marketing and promotional services to manufacturers in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
