ampm Adding Kim & Scott's Pretzels in Select Locations

Six c-stores in Chicago area now carrying gourmet snack item

LA PALMA, Calif. -- BP convenience chain ampm said on its Facebook page that it is starting to sell Kim & Scott's Gourmet Pretzels in selected stores in the Chicago area. The locations carrying the hot pretzels are in Naperville (2), Roselle, Bensenville, Warrenville and Aurora, Ill.

Kim & Scott's Gourmet Pretzels can also be found in the frozen aisles of Whole Foods Market, Wegmans, Jewel, Kroger, Super Target, Walmart and other major grocery chains. They are also sold in smoothie chains, coffee shops, movie theaters and airports around the country.

Kim & Scott's Gourmet Pretzels was started in 1995 and is now run out of a 38,000-square-foot Chicago bakery with annual sales projected at $10 million to $15 million.

It offers more than 12 varieties. Each all-natural pretzel is twisted by hand and made from scratch. The pretzels are made in a nut-free facility and are a source of whole grains and free from trans fats, preservatives and hydrogenated oils.

The ampm stores are based in La Palma, Calif. The ampm brand was founded in Southern California by ARCO in 1978. ARCO-branded ampm stores are currently found in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Arizona; BP-branded ampm stores are currently located in Chicago, Orlando, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Atlanta. There are also more than 1,500 stores in Brazil and Japan.
