Alexandre Zigliara was appointed to the new role of president of Clif Bar, which was recently acquired by Chicago-based Mondelez International. Zigliara, who has been leading the company’s integration, is succeeding Sally Grimes at the end of February, who was the brand’s CEO since May 2020.

“Sally is an incredible business leader,” said Laurie Guzzinati, vice president of corporate and government affairs for North America at Mondelez. “She and Alex have had a very collaborative relationship in supporting the integration and continue to work closely together.”

Previously, Zigliara was senior vice president and general manager of strategic growth channels at Mondelez. He also spent 15 years at Coca-Cola. She has been and continues to work closely with Zigliara to ensure a smooth transition, Mondelez told CSP.

A new leadership team was named internally, with more executives leaving the company, but details are not public.

“I would highlight that the leadership team moving forward for the business absolutely has a number of individuals who have been incredible talent within the Clif organization who will continue on to help carry the Clif business moving forward,” Guzzinati said.

Deerfield, Ill.-based Mondelez is a global snacking company operating in 150 countries. The company manufactures biscuits, chocolate, gum, candy and powdered beverages; its brands include Oreo, Ritz and Chips Ahoy! biscuits, Nilla wafers, Wheat Thins, and Premium crackers.
