Hershey Sweetens the Innovation Pot

New facility to aid in development of retail solutions

HERSHEY, Pa. -- The Hershey Co. broke ground this week for its Global Customer Innovation Center, a state-of-the-art facility that will serve as a destination for strategic customer planning sessions. The center will expand Hershey's leadership position by enabling the company to work in partnership with its customers to develop and deliver breakthrough innovations and retail solutions.

The Hershey Co. works in close partnership with key customers to develop solutions that meet their needs, said Dan Vucovich, vice president, chief customer officer. [image-nocss] The Global Customer Innovation Center will provide an exciting destination for strategy sessions and the development of custom programs. Our customers will be able to see, touch, taste and experience our latest benefit-driven, new-product innovations, global brands, chocolate and cocoa technology, and merchandising strategies.

The Global Customer Innovation Center will play a central role as Hershey continues to deliver new benefits for global consumers across a variety of strategic platforms, including snacks, confectionery and better-for-you.

The center will feature areas for highlighting Hershey's latest breakthroughs in product development, research, retail displays and merchandising. The center will be located on the company's headquarters campus in Hershey, Pa., and is expected to open in November 2006.
