Hostess Expands Zinger Recall

Products may develop mold prior to the best-by date

LENEXA, Kan. — Hostess Brands LLC has expanded its voluntary recall of certain packages of Hostess Raspberry Zingers because the product may develop mold prior to the best-by date.

The company recalled 11 fresh and frozen batches of the baked snacks in July. The expanded recall adds another 31 batches.

The products were sold to mass merchandisers, grocery stores, distributors, dollar and discount stores, and convenience stores throughout the United States.

The expanded recall applies to the following Raspberry Zinger products:

Consumers who have purchased the affected product are urged to discontinue consumption and contact the place of purchase about returning them for a full refund.

This recall does not affect any other Hostess Brands products.

Hostess Brands LLC is based in Lenexa, Kansas, and operates bakeries in Emporia, Kan., Chicago,  Columbus, Ga., Indianapolis and through its Voortman Cookies Ltd. subsidiary, Burlington, Ontario. Along with Zingers, its products include Ding Dongs, Ho Hos, Donettes, Fruit Pies, Twinkies and CupCakes.
